In accordance with an amendment (due to come into effect on Wednesday, July 1, 2020) to the ministerial ordinance related to the Act on the Promotion of Sorted Collection and Recycling of Containers and Packaging, shops that are managed by JR-West Hotels will no longer distribute plastic shopping bags free of charge.
(This does not apply to Nara Hotel.)
*Managed shops: A store that uses plastic shopping bags.
 
Starting on July 1 (Wed.), an additional fee will be charged for shopping bags.
■ Plastic shopping bags
Small: ¥3 per bag (incl. tax)
Large: ¥5 per bag (incl. tax)
 
■ Paper-made carrier bags
Large/Medium/Small
¥10 each (incl. tax)
* If you purchase something as a gift, one paper-made carrier bag will be provided free of charge.
* Some of our hotels do not provide plastic shopping bags. Thank you for your understanding.
 
It is hoped that by charging for plastic shopping bags, we can encourage customers to bring their own reusable shopping bags and help protect the environment.
