This promenade garden, one of Japan’s three finest, dates back to the Edo Period when its construction was ordered by the feudal lord, or daimyo. The garden contains a vast lawn, a pond, an artificial hill, and even a teahouse with a stream flowing directly into it. The perfect setting to contemplate the passing of the seasons.
